Brief: Produce a 30 second ‘VCAM’ to be aired on Current TV to advertise the new Samsung Blue Earth Phone.

Solution: An advert made from 300 recycled bottles. The new Samsung Blue Earth phone is made entirely from recycled bottles, and so is the advert!

The bottles act as pixels which then through stop frame animation tell the story of the phone and Samsung’s two new core ideas:
“turn the world blue” and “blue is the new green”. It was important to create a sense of excitement and positive change around the idea of turning green to blue. To communicate this at the switch over, we used neon blue glowsticks in the bottles in the dark to create a digital radiating glow. This project was truly an experimentation into film making and production and proved great fun to complete!

In collaboration with Katrina Cheeseman, Ben Lloyd, Dean Wilkinson and Alicia Mackay.

Below is the final ad which was ranked number 1 on public vote and finished top 3. The video is followed by ‘the making of’ photography.
